Who can use Drivio

• Instructor accounts are for approved driving instructors and driving-school staff.
• Learner accounts are for people learning to drive. If you are under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian is happy for you to use Drivio.
• You must give us accurate information when you sign up, and keep it up to date.

Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us promptly if you think somebody else has access.

Where a driving school gives you access through its workspace, the school controls the roles and permissions inside that workspace, and can remove your access to it.

What is available today

Drivio’s instructor apps for iOS and Android have not been released yet. Any reference on this website to the App Store or Google Play describes where the apps are intended to be published. It is not an offer, and it does not commit us to a release date.

What you can use today is the web version at m.drivio.uk, which covers setting up your account, your learners, your operating hours, your rates and your billing. Recording a lesson, with the route trace and the fault pins, requires the mobile app.

A separate Drivio app for learners is planned to follow the instructor apps. The same applies: no date is promised.

We aim to keep Drivio available and working, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and we will give reasonable notice before removing something you actively rely on, unless we have to act immediately for security or legal reasons.

Subscriptions and billing

• Drivio has a free tier and paid plans. What each plan includes is set out on the pricing page.
• Prices shown on this website exclude VAT. The exact amount you will pay, including any VAT, is confirmed at checkout before you commit.
• Paid plans renew automatically for the period you chose until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and your plan runs to the end of the period you have already paid for.
• We do not refund part-used periods unless the law says otherwise, or unless we have got something wrong.
• If we change our prices we will tell you before the change applies to you, and you can cancel if you do not want to continue.

Payments are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card details. See the privacy policy for who processes what.

Recording lessons

Recording a lesson captures the route and the position of every fault. That is personal data about the learner in the car, so the responsibility for it does not sit with us alone.

• Tell people they are being recorded. If you are an instructor, you must make sure the learner, and anyone else whose data is captured, knows a lesson is being recorded and why.
• Only record lessons you are teaching. Do not use Drivio to track anybody’s movements outside a lesson.
• Never operate Drivio while driving. Marking a fault, starting a recording or reviewing a map is for the person who is not driving, or for when the vehicle is safely stopped. You remain responsible for road safety and for complying with road traffic law at all times.

Your content, and notes about learners

You keep ownership of everything you put into Drivio: your roster, your lessons, your notes and your recordings. We do not claim it, and we do not sell it. You give us permission to store and process it purely so we can run the service for you.

When an instructor writes notes or competency ratings about a learner, the instructor is making their own professional judgement about that learner. In data-protection terms that can make the instructor a controller of that information in their own right, alongside us. Practically, that means an instructor is responsible for keeping their notes accurate, relevant and fair, and for dealing with a learner who asks about them. We will help where we can.

Free-text notes are never included in Drivio’s anonymised national map, under any circumstances.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

• Use Drivio for anything unlawful, or to harass, endanger or mislead anyone
• Try to access another person’s account, data or workspace
• Attempt to break, probe or overload the service, or work around its security
• Copy, scrape or resell Drivio’s content, data or software
• Upload anything harmful, or anything you do not have the right to share

If somebody breaks these rules we may suspend or close the account. Where it is reasonable to do so we will warn first and explain why.

Our software and brand

Drivio, its software, design and name belong to us. Using Drivio gives you the right to use it as intended while your account is open. It does not transfer any ownership, and it does not give you the right to use our branding without permission.

Our responsibility to you

We take real care with Drivio, but no software is perfect and we cannot promise the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

Drivio is a teaching aid, not an authority. Fault records, blackspots and readiness indicators are there to support your professional judgement as an instructor, or your own practice as a learner. They do not decide whether anybody is ready for a driving test, and they are not a substitute for qualified instruction or for the rules of the road.

We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Subject to that, and where you are using Drivio for business purposes, we are not liable for lost profits, lost business or indirect losses, and our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for Drivio in that period.

If you are using Drivio as a consumer rather than for a business, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

Ending your account

You can close your account at any time. When you do, we delete your content as described in the privacy policy, other than records we are legally required to keep. Please export anything you want to keep first.

We may close or suspend an account if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken, if we are required to by law, or if we stop offering the service. Except where we have to act immediately, we will give you reasonable notice and, if you have paid in advance, refund the unused part.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Drivio develops. We update the date at the top of the page whenever we do. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and continuing to use Drivio after that means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
